Details
A well-balanced Carmenere from the land owned by Quintessa in Chile. Try this exotic and bold red wine with grilled steak, kabobs, or other peppery foods. Like the Andes that runs the length of Chile, the Primus captures the supernatural beauty of the land, the rugged peaks, and the breathtaking vistas.
From the Winemaker
The 2010 growing season was marked by medium temperatures and rain absence. The yields were considerably lower than last year and in the case of Colchagua Valley, were also affected by higher frost incidents. Due to the dry season and lower temperatures, grapes ripened in optimal conditions to produce complex, well balanced wines with intense aromas, bright freshness, elegance and fruit intensity.
Deep crimson color.
AROMA Ripe red fruits, spices, fresh berries. Dark cherry, plum, and currant wrapped in smoky spice and a hint of dark chocolate
90 Points - Wine Advocate
"The 2010 Carmenere is a glass-coating opaque purple color. Balsam wood, wild berries, brier, and herbal notes inform the nose of a dense, plush, savory wine. Mouth-filling, ripe, and pleasure-bent, it is an excellent value that will provide enjoyment over the next 5-6 years. "
