From the Winemaker
The first winemaker was Paul Hobbs, and he made some great wines. But, then in 2003 James hired Thomas Brown to be his winemaker. He got to know Thomas in 1998 when he first moved up to the Valley who helped him for several years organizing the new cellar, while he was the assistant winemaker at Turley. Farming and winemaking is very natural with very little in the way of intervention. They are happy to have the wines express the characters of each vintage.
Critical Commentary
93 Points - Wine Advocate
"A gorgeous wine laced with dark red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice. ...all of which come together in an open, radiant style that is very appealing. This is a decidedly mid-weight, gracious 2007 that stands out for its classiness and understated personality."
Evolution Says
"Like your first kiss, it was a moment never forgotten. As the wine says “Bisou” (French for kiss) you will never forget the moment when the wine kisses your lips. You can set this wine aside 5-8 years or follow me, and drink it straight from the bottle, the instant it hits your hand". - Mike Nedeau, Evolution Sommelier
